Thank you for healing me and teaching me how to run so I never have to be healed again!

Thank you for all of your help regarding my knee and poor running mechanics! Your advice and assistance surely is one of the reasons I was able to complete the Boston Marathon without walking, and in a respectable time.

Thank you for the excellent physical therapy you provided me. I think it was my lucky day when I walked in. That day I was feeling hopeless and thinking that I would have to retire early; would never be able to enjoy travel again; and, have to give up hiking and other recreational activities. I had been struggling to get dressed in the morning and was exhausted by the time I was finished. I experienced embarassment over not being able to walk easily across the room at work. I had to hold a rail to go up steps. However, your optimism gave me the first hope I had experienced since the onset of the pain in my knee, leg, and hip. Your evaluation was thorough, and I quickly saw you as a caring, smart, and knowledgeable professional. You explained clearly to me the challenges I was facing with a hip and back with a limited range of mobility, but not only that, you articulated a plan for my getting better.

Thanks for all that you did to get the pain to go away. I feel pain free. I will recommend everyone to come there for their problems.

I want to thank you for all the time and your expertise in solving my crazy neck issues. I think you have given me the resources I’ll need to carry on by myself when my neck decides to act up again...or when I do something to knock it out again. Of course, if it gets too bad, I’ll be back to see you!

I did it. Thanks for getting me healed and back on track.

When Derek would work on me I’d be asking him all sorts of questions. He always took the time to answer and explain what he was doing and how it worked and what the goal was. I appreciate that he took the time to do that and I liked that he really seems to enjoy talking about what it is he does.

Because of you I feel better! Thanks for helping me work out the pain.

Just a note to thank Derek’s team for all you have done to help me. There were days I really hurt but I worked through it because of your encouragement. You are all the best.

During the first visit, you discussed dry needling with me. I wanted to do more research before consenting, but agreed on my second visit to have it done. It was a good decision to trust you on the efficacy of this procedure. Dry needling, along with traction and the exercises you taught me, improved the quality of my life by giving me more mobility without pain. I have progressively improved and was able to cope with daily chores and resume activities I enjoyed. Now I am able to hike, climb the steps at work, and sit and walk with little or no pain.

Also during my therapy I noticed that as an experienced professional you understood just how much pain or discomfort I could tolerate and you did not push me beyond that limit. You also understood that recommended exercises must be the ones I could accomplish or I would not do them. You would watch as I tried each new activity and if it was beyond my limit, you would stop me without showing any judgement. You always made me feel that I was working toward recovery within the limits of my capabilities. My respect for your abilities and professionalism grew as I spent more time in physical therapy. I understood your deep knowledge of the muscles, nerves, and tissues in the human body as you discussed my condition with me. I saw your compassion for all of your patients, and your strong commitment to your profession.
